BAYSIDE HISTORICAL SOCIETY TO HOLD

8^TH ANNUAL TOTTEN TROT 5K RACE

BAYSIDE, NY - Bayside Historical Society (BHS) on Sunday, October 25 will hold its 8 ^th annual Totten Trot 5K foot race in Fort Totten, featuring a waterfront course along Little Neck Bay and a unique celebration following the event.

Benefiting BHS's educational programs, the race is open to the general community, and prizes will be awarded in all age groups, including one for best costume (costumes are optional).   The race will be electronically scored by TEAM BrickWell.  Following the event, a celebration with live music will be held in the ballroom of the Officer's Club (also known as the Castle), with breakfast fare provided by Whole Foods Market at Manhasset.  Raffle prizes will also be awarded.

The registration fee is $20 for those who sign up before October 20 and $25 for those who register later.  Participants check in at 7:30 a.m., with the race starting at 9 a.m. Children under age 12 run free in the children's "fun run" at 10 a.m. The first 100 registrants will receive a free tee-shirt.  Registration forms are available online at baysidehistorical.org.  For more information, call Bayside Historical Society at (718) 352-1548.
