Make the best pasta while your Italian Grandma is outa town!  Plan to attend the Astor Center's upcoming hands-on pasta making workshop and Greenmarket shopping tour on Saturday, September 20, 2008 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Your day begins at the Union Square Greenmarket, where your instructor, Mark Bello (chef/founder of Pizza a Casa and pasta-making maestro) will guide you as you shop for the finest local, seasonal ingredients for the pasta and sauce making to follow.  Then it's off to the fully-equipped professional kitchen at the Astor Center for four hours of intensive Old World fresh pasta making.

As an extra special treat, while the pasta cooks, class members will be guided by Italian virtuoso of vino Mark Fornatale of Skurnik Wines  through a tasting of select wines leading to a perfect pairing with your fresh-made pasta masterpieces.
