The Astor Center, 399 Lafayette Street (at East 4th Street), Manhattan, New York City, invites hands-on participation of cooking lovers to join its upcoming "Bounty of the Greenmarket: Hands-On Cooking & Walking Tour" class on Saturday, September 13th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Your day begins at the bustling Union Square Greenmarket, where you will shop for your fresh ingredients for the great meal to come.  This great summer cooking class will be led Sara Jenkins, leading food authority and expert on Mediterranean foods.

After shopping for fresh seasonal ingredients, class members return to the Astor Center's professional kitchen to prepare a multi-course lunch centering around an Italian cuisine. Such great seasonal dishes like late summer risotto of local sweet corn, a fresh tomato soup and a fruit-based dessert like peaches poached in white wine will delite the palate.
