Here we are at Woodrow Wilson's Presidential Library and Museum in Staunton, VA. I am sitting on the steps at the rear of President WIlson's home - wow - it was a big house! The Victorian-like gardens were really neat and I enjoyed relaxing in them!

WOW - Did we have a fun filled-packed weekend!
This was a really big weekend for us. We traveled the entire Blue Ridge Parkway - all 469 miles thru North Carolina and Virginia and it took us about 21 hours to drive this most scenic route.
We saw lots of animals, over 250 deer, and three bears! Momma bear and her two cubs were playing in the road one evening (she needs to keep her kids off the road)! We even saw a fox. We got to end of the Parkway and found the Shenandoah Skyline Drive and decided to travel that as well. That was another 3 hours. It was a very long drive but very scenic and fun and I recommend it to everyone.
We stopped over in Staunton VA and visited the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library where I got to relax in the Victorian-style terraced gardens. A nice man came outside and took pictures of me and Dad. We then drove over to Washington DC to see the sites. I got my picture taken at the Tidal Basin at the FDR Memorial Park - this was a very nice park and I got to have my picture taken with President Roosevelt - they welcomed dogs like me and it was full of fountains and nice places to sit and relax.

A Presidential visit........................
Rusty traveled to Greeneville, TN to visit the home of the 16th President of the United States, Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Abraham Lincoln upon his assassination. Here is a statue of the President overlooking his home. He began as a simple tailor and moved all the way up to the White House!

Rusty is just one loveable guy!
Rusty has been involved in the Pet Therapy program with PAWS since early 2008 and has been quite active in the program.
During this time Rusty has visited hundreds and hundreds of people. From the hallways of the hospitals to the elementary school classrooms - Rusty has made a big impact on many people's lives.
Those who have met Rusty in person know that he has a "Golden Heart" and he gives everything he has to help bring a smile to peoples faces. Whether its walking down the halls of Mission Children's Hospital, or visiting with patients as they begin their first chemotherapy treatment, Rusty is there making everyone feel good! From staff, to patients, to nervous and anxious family members - Rusty's goal is to ease the stress and pain.
Now, for the first time, he is asking for your help. He wants to help raise money to keep the PAWS program running and expanding in the community. Every dollar he raises will be matched! He is so determined to make his goal that he is not coming down from the mountain until he reaches his goal! Will you please give today and help Rusty lead the way - and let him come down from the mountain top?
Rusty at Children's Hospital
One of Rusty's favorite places to visit is Mission Children's Hospital. Known by the entire staff at the hospital Rusty gets excited every time the sliding front doors open upon his arrival. It doesn't matter how many children are there the day he visits he makes sure that each of them get to experience "Rusty's love". It can be a one on one experience with an abused or neglected child in the Child Medical Evaluation program to meeting with the 30 or more children in the waiting room. Rusty's visits often are extended in order that each child can get to spend time with him.
Rusty takes his reading seriously
Just like his dad, Rusty believes Children are our future...teach them well and let them lead the way". Rusty participates in the area "Paws and Tales" Reading Program, where he visits the first graders at the area elementary schools and the children read to him. He has many stories to tell of all the kids he has met. The children in the reading program are all advancing quite rapidly and the program is a total success. Rusty is proud of the kids and is glad to be a part of this great program.
