Hi Jack and all

I just had an interesting thought as I read this part
of your reply to my post:

>>>>I do not think this is for everyone to attempt. I happen to be in a position where I am able to donate some time and energy to help those who need it the most. About limiting my list of folks I will help: I strongly believe that others will come along to help, so we will be able to handle many clients. >>>>

I too am in a position to donate some time and have been helping some people with their short sales, mortgage mods, etc. Your thought process about others coming along to help made me think that perhaps we could all get our Boards involved in this initiative? I know some boards help with worthy causes such as habitat for humanity, where volunteers put forth their time to help come to the aid of home ownership... I don't see this as being much different.

Thoughts anyone?

BTW - Whats up with the "this post has not been rated" comment that shows up everywhere? I've been MIA for a bit after having surgery, but for the life of me, I can't find out where you can even rate a post , although there must be a way or the comment wouldn't show up on posts ;-)

Hi Jack and all:

I think helping people and still making a profit makes the most sense. Unless you are a millionaire and have not lost alot of money in DJIA or equity in properties.

But if you started a group of LOCAL SENIOR realtors with a good lawyer in the group, maybe you could do some good at a Church gathering.

And each senior local realtor took 1 case each until a result, negative or positive.

An Article about PMI Insurers and getting them involved:
http://biz.yahoo.com/cbsm/081030/5dd9d16d418143ee8c314ec11606a3b8.html?.v=1

Get the local press involved. If you meet at a local Church it will look good.

Make the banks look bad and seem oppressive. Get emotional about it.

Get a video and get it on YouTube.

Start a Yahoo Group http://Groups.Yahoo.com for your local neighborhood about foreclosures.

Write a letter to your Congressman, Senators, and Barney Frank - Senate Finance Committee Chair.

If you have the time, and dont need the cash, go for it!

All the best,

Jack says:

Thanks Brian. I make a profit already. This is not about adding to my income, it is simply about helping people. Your thoughts are great for getting the word out, but the profit part is not what I am looking at with this project.

BTW, to let all knbow the severity of the problem here: I mentioned it to my neighbor across the street this morning and he immediately called his brother in law, who is in danger of losing his home as we speak. He didn't know he had options. Now he knows and we will be teaching him and helping him to conntact the right people to explore a modification or a Help 4 Homeowners program. Will keep you posted.

Dear John (and others)

I recently formed a partnership with a local lender and we work together to offer homeowners in trouble a range of solutions from loan modification to short sales. We are interviewing a bankruptcy lawyer to add to our team, called the Community Advisory Network, and for 2009 we will be presenting to community and church groups on the impact of the foreclosure crisis on our communities.

Stats show that 7 out of 10 people go into foreclosure without ANY professional advice. We feel that be making community presentations, we will get the word out to those who are in trouble AND generate business from those who are not in trouble, but who appreciate the work we are doing for our community.

We are working on our website www.HopeForHurtingHomeowners.com, so feel free to visit it and add content suggestions.

Incidentally, most of my motivation and expertise in this area comes from the short sale coaching program someone else mentioned - www.CDPEnow.com which was phenomenal! And the lender I partner with had similar training through a program called Mortgage Coach, so if you are looking for a lender to partner with their organization may be able to connect you with someone local who already understands the opportunity.

I would love to continue networking on this topic!
