Corolla May Get Its Own School
May. 11, 2009In an earlier blog I answered the FAQ "How do the children get to school?". At that time the parents had 3 choices: A long bus ride to a Dare county school, A boat ride to the mainland for a Currituck county school, or be home schooled. According to a recent article form the Virginia Pilot, there may soon be a fourth option.
A committee has been set up to look into putting a charter school into Corolla to provide better educational services to the children in the community. This could be a great asset to the area and help families in both Corolla & Carova. This along with the up coming (and yes it is coming) Mid-Currituck Bridge can help both areas become more residential and less tourist.
