I do not feel bad that my link is no longer at the bottom of every page at RISMedia.com, although we designed that sight to RIS specs, and also invented the local news and forums, and created the platform and initial design for this new version of the site over one year ago! With the technology gap enhancing their ability to steal, there are several new kinds of thieves which I will attempt to define here - please share your specific stories also: </p> <ol> <li>The &quot;we do everything story&quot;: almost all web design companies, SEO companies, marketing consultants, and promoters are constantly learning, and/or ar very busy protecting an outdated skill set. However, the fact is that skilled labor even in India is not cheap, and the supervision that is required makes up the difference. Most of these are not any good, and they usually only get a customer once - whatever they charge initially, that is the business they are in: hint: if the ticket is larger than $1000 you should make payments and not pay in advance! </li> <li>Lead generators: Expedia was good for consumers, but not for Hotels and Motels. Some lead generators (Realtor.com for instance) spend huge budgets to get and sell leads: but ask yourself this question; how good are the leads? Often the process the customer goes through to become a &#39;qualified&#39; lead drives the real buyers away with long forms and login requirements, leaving the &#39;Internet shopper from hell&#39; who will actually do anything to save $5 to be sold to you. Often these huge companies know how to buy a hit (PPC) rather than generate one with content (organic search) and, in order to cash flow, they will sell that same &#39;Internet shopper from hell&quot; lead four or five times to your competitors: maybe you noticed that the nicest guy becomes a n un-loyal shopper with these leads.
