February 2008

• Feb. 15, 2008 - Sunny and Mild is only the beginning of the story!

It truly is sunny and mild today.  The temperature is going as high as 79 degrees and as low as 45.  The most beautiful part of the day is the first part though.  Look at this sunrise taken from the View this morning.

Beachside is a great place to rest and find peace.  We have daily, weekly and monthly rentals plus a few long term rentals.  What could be better than renting?  Buying of course.  You can own the condo this photo was taken from.  And this is a buyers market now.

• Feb. 13, 2008 - TriPlex near the ocean offers good rental prospects plus a place to live.

This wonderful Old Tybee triplex is just steps from the ocean.  It has that Tybee charm that makes the island so captivating.

Located on Second Ave. behind the Sugar Shack, even the walk across the street to the beach is charming.  The cement gates mark the entrance to the Old Fort Screven.  Then it's just a few steps across the dunes to the beach. On the beach you can head straight for the water, lay out or spend an early morning in the swing while the sun rises.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants a rental investment.  Or you may like to live in one unit and rent out the other two.

• Feb. 4, 2008 - The Tybee Bomb is Back

The Tybee Bomb has inspired debate and acrimony over the years since it plummeted into the Atlantic in February of 1958.  It's back in the news.  There is no apparent  reason, it just likes to come to the surface every now and then.  Of course, the military says there is no danger from the bomb as it's trigger had been removed.  However, creative minds have come up with all sorts of ideas and dangerous scenarios.  In September of 2004, the Air Force looked again for the bomb.  When their findings were released in June of 2005, they said it was irretrievably lost and there were no clues on where to look for it.  It is probably buried beneath yards of ocean bottom.
