VoIP

Hello everyone:
Has anyone implemented VoIP in their offices to replace conventional phone service? I'd like to ask for responses to find out:
- What you implemented
- How many lines and/or stations
- How you evaluated the service
- What was your capital expense
- What it cost to implement
- What savings did you accrue
- Would you do it again
- Would you recommend this to another Realtor
- Anything else you would like to add

I am not surprised that no responses have been made to this VoIP question. VoIP is new and greatly mis-understood. Let's see if I can provide some background.
VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol. Here is what Wikipedia has to say about VoIP:
Voice-over-Internet protocol (VoIP, IPA: /vɔjp/) is a protocol optimized for the transmission of voice through the Internet or other packet-switched networks. VoIP is often used abstractly to refer to the actual transmission of voice (rather than the protocol implementing it). This latter concept is also referred to as IP telephony, Internet telephony, voice over broadband, broadband telephony, and broadband phone.
So, have you heard about voice over the Internet? What have you heard? Is what you have heard favorable, or not? If you were starting a Real Estate company, what kind of phone service would you buy, and why? Would you buy, 1) conventional phone lines from the large RBOCS (Regional Bell operating companies).2) Phone service from a CLEC (Competitive local exchange carrier) These companies often resell RBOC lines at a cheaper rate, 3) Cellular, 4) VoIP.
This question affects those who are broker/owners who already have phone service as well. Think of what you might do and respond.
There are no wrong answers here, but there may be much to learn!

We have just introduced a high quality VoIP phone line replacement service for Real Estate offices and so I am going to tell you about it. I'll try not to "sell" you but rather just inform (It's hard for me because this product is pretty awesome, but I'll try: please bear with me!)
SmartVoice is the name of the service. This service does not carry traffic over the Internet, but rather carries traffic over a dedicated broadband circuit that we put in your office.
Additionally Realtors then have access to find-me numbers, webfaxing, conference calling etc. You never have to buy another phone system or voicemail system ever again. You can actually use single line phones (your typical kitchen phone for example.) There is no capital expense, and savings can run between 30-50% over conventional phone lines.
What is the quality like? Remember the ads for Sprint in 1986; You can hear a pin drop? They were introducing VoIP at that time. Voice over the Internet is not bad quality even though voice is competing for space with all manner of downloads (Vonage, Skype). What do you think the quality of a dedicated broadband circuit would add?
Check us out on our website; let me know if you have questions.
