Use the web!

Diane Schliep Personal video and Listing on Yahoo (click)

The above can be found on the major video web portals of Google, AOL, YouTube and Yahoo!.

Is it expensive? That’s a relevant question, especially in today’s market.. but the service is reasonably priced. The Real Estate Home Show creates a 40 second listing commercial and places it on the all the portals for $79 (they always have specials going, give them a call!). They can even place the video commercial on their TV show which airs from coast to coast.

They also produce a 60 second “personal” commercial about you (as shown above) and post and manage it on the portals. This product has a setup fee of $24.95 and a monthly fee of $24.95…  shop around, professional personal videos would run you $500 with no marketing.

It's no secret that the web is driving real estate marketing. But you need to be there…

Video is huge in web 2.0; why? Consumers love to watch em. Here are a few examples of a listing video and personal video.

Video IS huge, but these are actually slideshows, not video.  There is a HUGE difference.

Yes it is true that we animate still images… but I would certainly argue that the end result is all that is really important... a professionally scripted, narrated, animated presentation.. for under $80.

Our videos are produced in a broadcast quality and are included on our nationally televised show, “The Real Estate Home Show” and “Search Homes On TV” show. Both air on the DirecTV satellite network every Wed on channel 225 at 8:30PM EST (and on multiple cable channels throughout the US).

When thinking of video on the Web, some thoughts:

* Do it! Millions visit YouTube, and it is a significant marketing tool (free) for my CyberStars(r).

* No need for expensive solutions: get a FlipVideo (I've talked about this marvelous tool on my r.e. technology blog). Takes good video, sound, zoom, editing, and its software, which loads when you first plug the Flip into your USB port, has a one-button link to posting on YouTube. Nothin' to it! ($209 on Amazon for the newest, HD version; $129 for non-HD version. Both have 60 minute video capacity...amazing!

* Do one video, post it on YouTube, link it to your Web site, link it to your blog, etc. So much exposure for so little cost!

We had panels and discussions on marketing with real estate video at our just-complted CyberStar(r) Summit in Scottsdale. So many are really increasing their business using video. One idea: preview a potential seller's home, do your video, post on YouTube, then feature it during your listing appointment. Use it as a closing tool!

Good luck, whichever video method you use!

Video bloggin in this way is great, you can also use it for TV and viral advertising like in the new science fiction film we are about to release.

There are lots of ways to advertise with video: my son released the first open-source film in America on $200 in college called "Boy Who Never Slept" - it has been seen over 10,000,000 times, and is sold at Amazon.com - the new one is a 14 minute science fiction short complete with special effects called Jathia's Wager.

We are offering a professionaly produced and directed, edited video with advertising in this release set to happen in February for $500. It comes with an HD and webready version, whatever we can accomplish with a two man team in the LA area in one day - that is how long it took us to produce our marketing video on our website - it doubled the number of pages per visitor and reduce bounce rate from nearly 80% to 66%!
