Blackberry Contact Picture Sync With Outlook 2007
|
|
I am relatively new to Blackberry.
I have pictures or a logo for contacts in Outlook 2007. They will not sync to my Blackberry Curve. I am using BIS.
I have searched the web and not found a satisfactory answer to this issue. One suggestion was to downgrade to Desktop Manager 4.3, which I did, and still had the issue.
In the Intellisync setup, I checked the field mapping for "Picture<-->Contact Photo" and it is set to work.
From searching the web my semi-educated guess at this point comes down to either the pictures for each contact need to be renamed to a Blackberry friendly file name, or, because ALL of my contacts do not have a picture associated with them (even a dummy, placeholder picture) somehow Desktop Manger won't sync any of them.
Anyone have the solution?

Thanks to those that emailed me directly, but I have found a solution based on your suggestions.
What I have found, at least with my model Blackberry (8330 Curve) is that if every single contact is NOT associated with a picture then NONE of the pictures will sync.
Here is what I tried leading me to my discovery.
At first, Desktop Manager was configured for a two way sync for my contacts. I then adjusted it for a one way sync from the PC to the BB, and to REPLACE items on my BB.
That didn't work. I left the configuration in that state.
I then, diligently went through every contact with no picture and added either a proper image or even a logo for each one. When done, every single contact had an image associated with it. In some cases I loaded a "placeholder" image if I didn't have an actual one to use. If you have to know, I used male and female stick figures for contacts that had no actual picture.
This worked.
