Regarding extra charges with Verizon.

When I used the June Fabrics / PDA Net software on my Treo 700WX, I incurred no extra charges from Verizon. I do not know if the built in, Windows Mobile, modem feature would cause Verizon to add charges.

Could it be that you are running the cheaper data plan, which I think is around $30, versus the more comprehensive data plan?

Members,

I love PDA Net the product sold at www.Junefabrics.com! The purpose of the program is to tap into the data plan the Smartphone uses to give the phone email and web access. The data is changed into computer friendly format so now you have Internet access on your laptop almost everywhere without paying a charge.

The carriers hate PDA Net because they want to sell you "Tethering" for $15 to $20 a month and will tell all kinds of stories about why you should not use it. USE IT, many agents across the country have and love it.

What a great tool to help agents!

Great tool! I just installed this on my Centro with Verizon and I can't believe how fast it is. Hopefully Verizon won't catch on! They are probably scouring the internet looking for their clients posting that they are using these programs!

Thanks for the tip!

Could the party be over?

I have been using pdaNet for almost 2 years with Alltel. My use is occasional and sporadic but very important. There is not always a convenient wifi available.

On a recent trip, the hotel network was messed up, and there was only wife in the lobby. I used pdaNet primarily for "full view, full service" email for a few days. The next attempt to use pdaNet was unsuccessful, and I lost Internet access to my Treo 755, also.

Seems Verizon/Alltel blocked my Internet for teathering. My use is important, but only occasional. Anyone know what's up, and how to get around it?

I had the same problem in August. I was in California where there was no wifi. Tried to use my PDANet and it just would not work. I wound up buying an aircard since I was going to be there for 10 days. And you know we can't be away from business that long.

Does anyone know why this is happening???Dick????

As a point of clarification, can you get to the Internet and maybe even get your eMail, but not send eMail?

Nice feature... sorry I don't have an answer for you... Except, my Verizon card (now built into the Dell for 3 years) has been reliable for over 7 years... I don't have any other ISP at home (so that sames me some money)...

I purchase pda net last month and used it when I was out of town. I got on for 5 min. then repeately got kicked off. Since then I had to have my computer drive wiped clean. I tried to reinstall the program from the e-mail link like they said. My computer said the file was corrupt. I have notified the company about this situation and have received no reply( 3 e-mails sent). There has to be a way to find out if 1. Verizon has disrupted this service

2. Has pda net discontinued this service??????

I've been using PDA Net for a while on my Palm Centro and previously gave an endorsement of the product. Lately I have been having problems with not being able to connect, or having my connection drop and unable to reconnect. In fairness to them, I haven't totally diagnosed the problem, so it could be my cable. However, I never have issues performing hot synchs which leads me to believe there is an issue with the application. If June Fabrics monitors this conversation it would be a great time to chime in!
