Taking the plunge, I am now teaching all Smartphones

D'Ann,
I just checked at Pocket Gear and they do have Blackberry programs but no Duplicate remover for Blackberry.
We do have a Blackberry page in this group and I do plan on posting more tips and tricks for Blackberry here within a week or two. I did not teach Blackberry in the past but now do so look to the members of this group to help.

Thanks, Dick. I have the BB Storm, which is so new it may not be that popular yet. I love it, especially after three years of total and absolute frustration with the Treo 700w. I hated that phone, it was awful. The only issue I have with the Storm is that texting is not as easy, and definitely not as fast, as you have to wait for the blue light to catch up and be on the right letter. Other than that, compared to the Treo it is a Godsend. I will look forward to hearing more about BlackBerry.
Dick and D'Ann, Blackberry software loaded on 3 computers MUST all be set to only uodate contacts from Smartphone. If you have assistants using computers and adding contacts, you may have synching software set differently on that computer. And, yes, you should restart after changing the settings. Then delete the duplicates in the Storm and synch with all computers. It should work if you take the time and don't get distracted. Sandi Pfister, Blackberry Devotee
D'Ann,
Your poor thing, the 700w was only out for a short time and was quickly replaced with the wx. Guess I need to watch what I say but if you tried to use the 700w for 3 years you deserve a metal.

Dick,
I have been using the Treo 650 with service thru AT&T since our association changed over to new lock boxes almost 2 1/2 years ago. I took your classes that were offered and have really enjoyed my phone. I use it for my calendar, contacts, emails, e-key, listings, showings & roster data, as well as for the web. My problem is that I think I have worn it out and I have been looking for a comparable phone that works well with all of these. It looks like the Centro will be my only choice and I have not been hearing very good things about it. Which phone would you recommend?

Donna,
First welcome to the room, always good to have another past student! Knowing how you are using your 650 I think the Centro is your best choice. Many agents are very happy with their Centro so not a bad choice. You will feel right at home as the operating system is almost the same as the 650. When you leave the Centro in the future then that will be time to change Operating Systems!

Hi Donna, I agree with Dick. I don't know what negatives you have heard, but I have had my Centro for over a year and I LOVE IT! I know manty others who also like it. The only complaint I have heard is from some who feel the keys are too small
There was a free deal through Realtor.org that may still apply!

Thanks for the comments. I was trying to decide if I could hold out long enough for the Palm Pre to come out and then for AT&T to get it after Sprint. I think I would be looking at a 9 months to a year. I feel better about the Centro knowing that I won't have very much to re-learn.

Donna,
You do have an option, rest of the room this is one reccomendation for one agent who if you read her story you should agree. You can find a discounted new or slightly used Treo 680 on eBay. The 680 is so much like the 650 with more bells and whistles you will be happy. I just looked and you can spend between $100 to $150 for the 680. If in the near future the Pre hits and it's what you want to do you now have more options. By purchasing a 680 off eBay then it doesn't mess with your contract meaning when the Pre does come to AT&T you haven't just signed a new 2 year deal. Keep your 650 as a back up in case of problems and just pull the Sim Card. If you go with the 680 I feel you can resell and get 70-80% back what you paid OR keep as a back up.
That's what I would do today knowing what I know, which ain't much!

I bit the bullet and purchased a new Centro. With a 2 year deal and rebate it cost $30. I was able to sync with my Treo software and move all contacts, memos, and my calendar. I set my email up and then went to Supra and downloaded my e-key and MLS data. Within 30-40 minutes I was up and running. Other than the smaller, tighter keyboard configurations I can't tell the difference.
Thank you for the information it is very nice to have experts on this board that we can turn to for help.
