Karen,

Would love to return to Mesa, it been about 3 years since I spoke there. Look at another discussion in this group titled Treo 680. I talk about Hash Codes which tell you why your 700p crashes. Amazing how everybody pushes blame, I know thousands of agents using 3rd party software with no problem.

So what can you do about getting me back to Mesa?

While Dick is getting his tour organized and posted on his website - a visit to his site is still in order. Tips and tools are posted there and you can even order his DVD to help you with your smartphone until he gets to your area. I have followed Dick closely over the past two years. You ought to see the Verzion salesmans face when I say - I have to check out what you are telling me with my "Smartphone Counsultant" or I go to the kiosk and pull up his webiste. I know they go back to his site as soon as I leave! :>)... www.DickBetts.com is the go to man on Smartphones!

I have an iphone and love the contacts, calendar, RPN app calculator, email, map etc. features!

The weakness is the ATT network here in Big Bear Lake. I ended up carrying a Verizon phone for areas that ATT won't work in up here in the mountains!

How sad, I know others who must carry 2 phones, sometimes for coverage others because of email etc. Maybe the day will come come for one carrier and one device.

Marti,

I thanked you off line for your kind words but let me do it here in the group. Thanks for the endorsement, you gave me a warm and fuzzy that maybe I am helping or even changing the way people operate and use their Smartphone.

Thanks Again!!!

Don't know where this problem falls in line with the discussions but I do need an answer. Somehow in my syncing my Treo700 has somehow duplicated all my contacts! I am constantly deleteting but do not know how this happened. I have so many in my database that it will take me forever to get them all out. Is there a shortcut or something to be wary of so this will not occur again.

Iris,

First place I would look for why you are getting Duplicated is the times on your devices. The time on your computer(s) if you sync to more then one and your 700p has to be close. This happens to many users so check this before you try to fix.

There is a program on www.PocketGear.com called DDD Delete Duplicate Data that sells for $8.95. This will save you tons of time.

"my Treo700 has somehow duplicated all my contacts"

My 700p has done that a number of times and I finally realized that it appears to be because it is a Palm OS and I sync with Outlook through a Microsoft Exchange connection. I appears that any interuption in the sync that causes it to fail can occasionally make it duplicate contacts. Sometimes even appointments in Calendar.

Dick, re: duplicate contact/calendar issues, will the recommendation you made (8.95) work for a BlackBerry too? I have 3 computers to synch, and I have it set up for the PDA to override the desktops/laptop, but I do have duplicates and It is frustrating. Also, I am not seeing any discussion about BlackBerry devices in these discussions and am wondering if there has been any, or will be --- maybe I'm in the wrong group? Either that, or there just aren't any issues with the BlackBerry?? (g) Thanks, D'Ann Bartley
