Got my BB this week as a result of a Palm 700p crash. First Alltel wanted to use my insurance and charge me $95 to get an older Palm 700wp. Did not want that (had the wp and did not like it) so the only other solution was to pay $150 to get the BB curve since it was only $65 more.

I should have gone to Verizon I think since my Alltel service is not good. Even though I have nationwide I am on roaming and have spotty service in areas outside of a 50 mile radius of home area.

Problem setting up my BB Curve.

I do a good deal of text messaging but on my BB curve it throws the sms in with the email in both locations. Have I done something wrong in setting up? I want my email in one location and my sms messages in another. Any suggestions to separate these two. Just got this week and I am learning on the go........

Hi Ben,

It all depends on the sophistication of your tenants, their cell phones and digital cameras.

As a general statement, while many are savvy enough to take a picture with a cell phone or a digital camera, less are capable of sending that picture to anyone by any means, and even less are inclined to do any use of digital technology to tell you about a leaky pipe, even if they ARE capable. With that group you'd be lucky to get a simple phone call at all.

That said.

If they are capable, why not simply have them take a picture with their cell phone and send it to you as an "mms" message? That could go straight to your Blackberry, and in turn be shared with the manager or even the repairman.

If they have a digital camera, they would also have to know how to upload a picture in an email or to a free web site like Photobucket.

Photobucket can also send pictures and video by email or phone.

Sometimes we forget that the things we do without a second thought with cell phones and cameras are unthinkable by a large number of people.

How many of us, when we use someone's cheap cell phone instantly think "this thing can't do anything!" In reverse, the owner of that phone sees yours and thinks: "why would you ever do any of those things on a PHONE?"

The "cheap" cell phone owner is telling you something. They are usually not tech savvy. They probably never will be tech savvy, and they are fine with it. For them it also would probably be a big bother to put your contact info in their "contacts" on the phone.

Hello, I heard that Verizon customer may be able to get the Palm Pre in the next 6 or 7 months. What do you guys think about Blackberry VS. Palm Pre?

Take a good hard look at the BB curve/Javelin (model 8900, I think)

Palm is dead, they just haven't laid down yet.

Do you have any problems with the small keyboard? I am about to switch to a BB but I am a lager person, so I was adfraid I would have problems with the Pearl keyboard.

Hi,

I'm new in the group. How are you?

I'm working on my Module 4 - 4 . This is part of my last assignment before the final exam. The good thing is I'm searching for a smart phone that will work for the MLS listings when I'm on the field. Just kind of wondering if I'm in the right track?

Hello BB users, I am new to the group since I just recently purchased a BB Curve.

I am in need of a mortgage calculator. Previously I have used Palm software and the Canile calculator which is not available for BB. Any suggestions? Also I am not too happy with the regulator calculator layout. It is awkard to use. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
