One-Size does not fit all in the world of Smartphones

Hi Dick,
I have had a TreoPalm for 2 years now and hate it. When I am driving I can't see the key of answer the phone, nor text with any fluidity. The keys are so small. Also, if I put in in my purse, watch out I will be calling people without knowing it. I you know how dangerous that can be! I would like to be able to use this phone for an extra since I have a family share of 5 lines with the capibilty of using a device to conect to web for email and download the mls with navigation device. The adapter above looks interesting. Do you know if it would adapt to my phone?

Wait a minute, having a hard time texting while driving, excuse me with "fluidity". Trust me you have one of the best phones for texting while multi-tasking. The on screen keyboards are much worst and the Centro is way too small. You can answer your phone with your thumb on the center of the navagator. Somebody has turned off your keyguard which is why it's making calls in your purse. Try the next time the phone rings answering with your thimb and go to "Prefs", keyguard and turn it back on.

Hi Dick
I have a Treo 650 and I am thinking of upgrading to a Blackberry8830.
One reason is that when I go overseas I can still receive call, however I can always rent a Blackberry for that purpose as well.
Why do you think Treo's are better than Blackberry's? I am looking for a better email system.
Thanks

Hi Shelby,
Concerning your comparison between Treo and Blackberry....I'm still shopping and I read every email, discussion entry, etc. that I see on the subject of smartphones and it appears that nearly everbody knocks down their Treo device and states their intent to get a Balckberry to replace it. However, you took an opposite position, based mainly on available additional software options.
I'm a former Blackerry carrier from several years ago and in a totally different industry, back in the day when there were only one or two models to pick from. That experience causes me to lean in the Blackberry direction. It's the Bold that I have my eye on.
Is there more reason that software for me to look more seriously at Treo?

Steve,
I wasn't shopping for a phone. When I was forced to purchase a new laptop computer running Vista I found that that my Treo700p Smartphone would not sync with the 64 bit version of Vista I had purchased. I am a real estate trainer and my coordination of schedules and contract is vital to my business both in my office with an XP desktop and my new traveling Vista laptop. When I found that it was impossible to sync my two year old Smartphone with my Vista laptop I had no choice but to buy a new phone that would sync with both operating systems. According to the Palm representative that I spoke with and the Versizon tech that placed the three way call with Palm that phone was Blackberry to do the same things that my Treo 700p was doing.
Dick,
I have a palm treo 755 smartphone. I love it when it is working...however, the one I have now is my third replacement! It constantly cuts off on me in the middle of whatever I am doing...Has anyone had issues with this phone working properly or have I just had three lemons

lmk,
Here's how you do it. I have a 755p.
hit your house button
hit Prefs, click on keyguard, and check the 2 bottom boxes...
But keep in mind of you do this you cannot click on your touchscreen to look up other peoples numbers while you are on the phone with someone or pick up your call waiting using your touchscreen. I'm notorious for clicking on contacts to look up my lenders number while I'm on the phone talking with a client..LOL If someone knows a way around this please post how...;-)

I also have a Palm 755 Treo and as I type this am looking a the 3rd replacement (in the box & of course, refurbished). Ugh, what a hassle. Can barely wait until 7/23/09 to get a Blackberry, which Verizon tells me will be better (as that's what Obama's securtiy people use!) and is more stable. OK, great, but will it work with Agent Office? I hear the Curve is the one to choose. (Anyone?)
I am not impressed with support for these phones.
