As a new user of a Blackberry, I am trying to maximize the features on the phone. When I sync with my Outlook and there is a reminder alarm, it shows on by Blackberry calendar but doesn't sound off on it. What must I do to activate that feature?

I guess no one has the expertise or interest to answer my question.

Very disappointed!

Hi Mike,

From what I've read, you must alter your profile settings to tell your Blackberry to make a sound to alert you of a new reminder.

If you have already done that and it still doesn't work, you might call your phone provider for support, the issue doesn't seem to be too common. Also, I did some google searching and I found a thread that might help at:

Good luck!

Hi Mike, FYI Verizon has classes in how to use the Blackberry. I found it informative in learning some quick tricks. I'm still learning too.

Now to your question and my answer: on the main screen (BB) on the left top you should see a speaker icon. Highlight it. Press the center button on the phone (next to the blackberries). Select a sound and that should make a sound IF you have your calendar checked to an alarm.

I hope that helps. Good Luck to you. Judy

Sorry Mike. I bet I speak for many who want to help but can't figure out an answer. I went to my BB and Outlook and tried with no luck. Generally when there's no reply, it means that although we are interested and wish we could help, we don't know and will leave the e-space clear for those who can add. Ask an easy one next time and you'll get tons of responses!

Sorry, I didn't get back to all that wrote helpful hints. I guess the best thing to do is to get back to Verizon and find out what is happening. I have set up my profile to alert me, but nothing happens. Back to the drawing board....

Thanks for all your collective help!
