Palm Pre Owners and Maybe Owners

Amy, my understanding is the iPhone, BB Storm, and Palm are the only PDA smart phones out there with touch screen. Note: BB Storm is coming out with BB Storm2 or 9550, which they say the touch screen capabilities has been improved, and it has a Wi-Fi with this version. I suggest BB Tour, or BB Bold! I am in the same situation and do have a BB 8830 and want the iPhone, because the functionality, and great Web Navigation, however the BB has known best for email and business applications in the worlds used by professional.
Do your home work, and go with your guts!
Cheers,
Reza
I bit the bullet a week ago and retired my much loved Palm Treo. I purchased the BB Tour and am syncing it to two computers. All is working flawlessly. The fob works great too. I know it is an extra tool to carry but it "lives" in my purse. Doesn't have to be charged as it has batteries. I live by my Outlook calendar, tasks, contacts and memos which are all syncing to the Tour. I do miss the wireless sync that I used previously but not enought to spend additional $15/month. My husband has the Storm but I really like the buttons and rollerball instead of the touch screen. Try the 30 day test. Someone else in my office returned his Tour because he had problem with the buttons being too close together. I love the Tour and wouldn't go back to the Treo given the chance. I had yet to change to newer technology and be disappointed.

I had a 30-day trial period with the Pre and took it back. The phone was
very cool and I liked it alot but it didn't open lock boxes (which I didn't
know how much I would miss that) and Sprint sucked in my area. So,
for FREE I got the a Centro and I kind of love it! Because I didn't have
to buy a new phone I bought a new Touch iPod for the fun of it.
It's like an iPhone without the phone part. So, I'm happy for now!
Good luck and remember you can try any phone for 30 days.

Please remember the best Smartphone out there is the Smartphone that meets your personal needs. If the IR is important to you then your limited to a few choices and don't let the carrier talk you in or out of anything. AT&T and T-mobile customers who want to keep your IR go to eBay and purchase new phones like the Treo 680 and Centro and move your sim card into the phone.
I love my Pre but not happy with Sprint coverage so for now I am struggling with 2 phones activated not counting the other 16 I carry for teaching.

Many Windows operating phones do have touch screen so check out your options.
Amy look at eBay!

I have the Centro now & love it, but have had it for 18 months now. I also want the phone to open lockboxes, but am kind of upset that no matter what phone I get, will need a fob. I pay extra every month to have the ekey on my phone. I did find out that AT&T will be coming out with the Palm EOS (AT&T's version of the Pre), but will still want a phone that can open lockboxes. My husband just got the Palm Pro & loves it, he is a dedicated BB person. Decisions, decisions...
That is my reason for not having the Pre. In my area Sprint service is terrible. I originally had Sprint with my Treo and the phone worked great but service terrible. Sprint allowed me to get out of my contract and I was forced to move with Verizon. I had the Centro which was working great but when I added Top Producer it crashed. I ended up with the Blackberry Curve which after some education, I really like it. I do have the Supra fob which allows me to access my locks and my MLS info. Now I'm torn about when the Pre comes to Verizon about changing again. I've heard good and bad.
Hmmm, about the Centro crashing when Top Producer was added: I have always had Top Producer on my Palms, including the currently owned Centro. The crashing should not have had anything to do with TP8i, in my experience. Did TP tech support tell you that was the issue???
I love my Palm Treo 650, yes 650. No need to change until the Pre comes to Verizon which I feel might be years away. Regardless, I can hang with the 650. I'm really looking forward to the Pre's camera capabilities. I also use Pandora (internet radio) which is only compatible with a few Smartphones, the Pre being one of the few.
