Palm Pre Owners and Maybe Owners

Sprint is doing an outstanding job on customer service... I have not yet converted to the PRE - as I am a Verizon customer and as Dick suggests if that is the serice that works in your area - stick with them! Have been Plam user for 10 years so I am just waiting!
Back to Sprint... my daughter has been a BB user with lousy Sprint phone service "with no good tech support for BB"! Since convereting to the PRE - she has had hundreds of question and without fail Sprint has gone above and beyond in supporting her questions with the Pre! But still the phone service is sucky! They don't want to loose her and her six phones I am so sure!
C'mon Verizon... get the PRE!!! I am so envious of you who have it!

What is the "Cousin"? Could that mean the Palm Pro? A local manager (Verizon) told someone they would be getting the Pro.
As soon as I read that quote I went looking for a phone code named cousin. I don't think they would be billing the Pro in the same breath with the Pre. Oh no offense to Pro owners but no way the same device. It's been reported that both AT&T and Verizon have made statement that the Pre is coming but Dan Hasse CEO of Sprint has quickly made statements that the Pre is locked up for the balance of 2010. I know there is a Pre out there for AT&T which reports have it being tested in Europe. Last thing I read without confirmation Sprint and Palm expect to see between 2 and 4 million Pre's sold so I know Palm would love to get it in AT&T and Verizon's hands

Marti,
I too had problems getting my Outlook contacts into the phone first time with the "one time" Palm transfer. I found much easier to export all contacts and calendar items to a CSV file and then upload them to my gmail account. I did find that if you worked with smaller groups of items (ie one year at a time or 250- contacts) it worked much easier. Then with having everything online in gmail my phone is syncing realtime all the time with my phone.
I really like this phone but am trying to learn it like everyone else. Does anyone know if we can add "quick launch" icons to the bottom row? I really would like to add the messaging function as I text quite a bit. Thanks!

Suzanne,
Thanks for sharing about contacts. As far as adding to the quick launch it looks like you can have 4 apps. If you want to change one have your apps open then drag up to move out of quick launch then drag down the one you want to add.
Hope that helps.
Dick
Bests thing I've done for myself on Outlook are:
- Find a really good Oulook trainer and hire them to come to your place with you and your machine for a couple of hours and pick their brain-- it was well worth it and they even take my calls once in a while still to get me using the tricks they taught me! There are a lot! I think Microsoft makes useful things faster than I can add them to my repertoire, so essentially it's unlimited.
- Hook up with Dick Betts - he teaches smart phone stuff but it overlaps as I use Outlook for my data base to sync with them.
- Get one of the books-- Outlook for dummies or one of the others, and periodically read a bit more/ learn a new piece.
- Keep with the same program for years!!!!! Then it adds up. I look at the time I spend with H/W or S/W tools is the biggest investment I make in my real estate business, bar none!
WE can do together what we cannot do alone!
Thanks for the info--
The previous post asks about "the cousin" the Palm Pro.
I'm wondering if that is a variation on name because these providers (Verizon, Sprint, etc.) all like to think they are the ONLY one who has the phone and theirs has some extra special whistle on it.
...similar to how they told me that the BB Storm would be coming to AT&T (the BB Bold) and then it turned out to be completely different!
Any insight on this?
Speaking of Outlook, we have an excellent Outlook Group on RealTown organized by Larry Perry. Check it out
Reguarding Palm Treo:
I am "simpatico" with frustrated Treo users. Dick is coming to Greenville,NC soon and I hope he brings his magic wand to dispell my operating blues.
I am also keen to know if anyone has taken up the Tablet for on the spot buyer contract signing and transmission to listing agent.
Thank you kindly for any guidance.
