Palm Pre Owners and Maybe Owners

I would like to make this the go to place for information about the Palm Pre Smartphone. Together we can speed up the learning process by sharing what we have learned. I am spending as much time as possible learning the device but I am sure some of you have started someplace different.
So let's start sharing plus having REALTORS add what they are liking or disliking about the phone will help some decide.
First thing I have noticed which currently no other Smartphone has is to be able to run many apps (programs) at the same time. Instead of closing an app just hit the "Center Button" which reduces the program to about a quarter of the size. Open all you want and they look like a deck of cards using your finger just flick them side to side then tap to open to full screen. Just to test I opened 15 apps with no problem.

Dick,
You and I were standing in line together, of course you were in Ocular, Florida and I was in Baltimore but we kept up with each other. The Sprint people were a pleasure to deal with, very organized and knowledgeable. Switching from Verizon was my only concern. The phone is a dream, clear connection.
Swamped with business and will report back when I have more time to share.
You were smart to keep your old phone working for awhile. That gives you time to really learn the Pre.
Coldwell Banker agents,
Looks like your company has worked out a deal with Sprint and the Pre. The plan offers a $40 gift card with some strings attached for details check out the website below.

When transferring contacts - be careful - my daughters only transferred her FaceBook friends and not all of her Outlook contacts...
Since I am not a Sprint person, has anyone heard when Verizon may release its' version of the Pre? Is the operating system compatible with Top Producer? I currently use a Centro and have had Palm Treos in the past.
I am currently looking to switch providers and have the same question, but I have a question for Ralph. Do you use your top producer on your phone alot? I am just getting started with it and didn't know how useful it would be?
Ralph,
I too would like to know the answers to your questions. I went with a Centro primarily because I didn't want the additional expense TP charges for a Blackberry. However, I wish TP would update the Palm app. Maybe if we all submit requests they will respond.! I've submitted a request to be able to cut and paste a TP contact's email address into an email application or improve how to email a contact in TP. For some reason you can view the email address, but you can't select it to copy and paste. When you select edit contact, you no longer see the email field. I have gone round and round with support on this. Please let me know if you have a work around. I also have requested that they get the program to respond to the 5 way button and be less dependant on a stylus or field touch. It would make selecting a contact much less cumbersome.

The last time I spoke with TP 8i support, they had no data on the Pre. Discouraging, because it usually takes a long time for TP to implement something new. I, too, have the Centro. Will be watching for replies on Chris' issues. BTW, why doesn't the Subject line ever change? Makes it impossible to watch for certain threads:) Lois

If you want to change the Subject line, you can start a new thread by using the Create New Discussion link on the main page of the Group, or use the Create Discussion link at the bottom of the message. If you use the Submit Reply link, the subject line stays the same and the reply remains within the thread.
