<p> Hi, </p> <p> I would love to hear what is working well for other members who use Verizon service. I started with the treo 650 years ago when it was new and had nothing but problems.I then moved to the pocketpc 6600 which had a few problems and Verizon replaced it with the 6700. This one seems to have memory issues and I recently had to do a hard reset in order for the device to realize that it had memory. I have had it for 2 years and can upgrade again. I am very curious and waiting to see the Blackberry Thunder that is supposed to be coming out by the end of this month. </p> <p> The one downside to Blackberry for me is that I currently sync everything my my company&#39;s server so I always have a full back up if I have to do a hard reset or my device has a problem. With Blackberry I can only sync emails to the server. </p> <p> Have you had problems with your Blackberry? <p> I can&#39;t seem to find a method/place to have Outlook print only the desired pages of an email, or email exchange with replies, etc. <br /> If I want only the first page, for example, but the exchange has &quot;grown&quot; the message to 4 pages...how can I print only the current page? <p> How do you uninstall software on a smart phone (Centro in particular)? </p> <p> Seems like when I install a new software package that it installs all sorts of little bits and pieces of software with names that only a programmer could love. When I go into &quot;delete&quot; from the main menu, I am looking at all sorts of jibberish and I have no idea what I&#39;m suppose to delete. Surely there is a better way. Everyone else on the planet has an uninstall utility. </p>

<p> I have a hearing impairment. I have a cochlear implant for 1 ear and a hearing aid in the other. I find the Treo 650 sound quality is not great for my condition. It is slightly better if I put it on speaker phone however this is not good in public places. </p> <p> My questions are: Is there a good sound program I can install? <p> So like me many of you read the recent court ruling in California stating that Cell Phone Termination Fees are not legal and the phone industry must stop charging them. Well first we have a long ways to go, the Federal Government will get involved because we can&#39;t have each state ruling and causing 50 different sets of rules. </p> <p> Let me give you both sides of this debate; </p> <p> <strong>The Good about early Termination Fees</strong> </p> <p> This allows the carriers to offer you phones at a much cheaper price because they have 24 months to recoup the true cost of the phone. </p> <p> <strong>The Bad about early Termination Fees</strong> </p> <p> The price of phones will go up to about the recommended manufacturer price. On Smartphones that could be $300 to $400 more then current prices. </p> <p> In my personal opinion I like the idea of ending Termination Fees so we the users have many more options. Yes this means we pay more for the phone up front but the carriers are going to have to raise their level of customer service to keep us. People move all the time, what happens if in your new home no bars, should you be punished because of their service? </p> <p> In the spirit of competition I think ending Termination Fees will lead to lower monthly cost to the consumer. Current plans have a portion set aside to pay for that free or reduced price phone. </p> <p> I always tell my students, &quot;Don&#39;t look at the cost of the phone, look at the cost of the phone and the Two year monthly fee to see the true cost of your deal&quot;. I think it will all be about the same in cost but should see more options and better service. </p> <p> Dick </p>

<p> I have a Verizon 700p that reboots if I try to select email from the app screen. It also reboots if I try to open memos. Using the #*#377# trick it says the last crash was from a bad record in Memos. The palm has rebooted since then on the email program. </p> <p> How can I resolve these issues? </p>

<p> I think I have a faulty phone. At the end of the day, it kept going on to start at the beginning and shutting off over and over again. What do you think? <p> Positives and Issues with the phone </p> <p> Alert notification - I have it set to vibrate when a message comes in whether the phone is no ring or ring, but it doesn&#39;t vibrate (I even re-set it twice and re-booted)? Any ideas of what I might be missing? </p> <p> My TREO 680, allowed me to input the area code so I didn&#39;t have to type it with each call. I was given some advice on how to do that with the 755w BUT it only added the area code as an automatic entry to a new contact. Is there a way to add it so I do not have to dial it for each local call? </p> <p> I did change the download time to every 4 hours for email and that saved a lot on the battery life. If I need it sooner, I just use Active Sync. </p> <p> Lastly I have 91 Notes that I moved over to Tasks, since Tasks wll sync thru the exchange server but Notes will not. (I use Notes &amp; Tasks to SAVE EVERYTHING-Gate Codes to communites for re-entry and other important information). There are 91 notes on my desktop but only 83 on the phone. <p> Anyone know the in/outs and which one of these is best to use? </p> <p> When wireless synching my mail does not allow attachments or phots. I DO get the photo in messaging. Using Verizon &amp; have the Palm 700. </p> <p> Am presently on hold waiting for Palm to address another issue with Docs To Go as it wants me to BUY a key. <p> I just got the Palm Treo 755P from Verizon and I hope to the Lord that I never have to trade phones again. What a hassle changing from one company AT&amp;T to Verizon. And, then the salesman from a small Verizon store let me walk out without understanding many of the features on the phone. It was a nightmare that lasted from 1:30 p.m. on Friday until 4 P.M. on Saturday. So, far, about 5 hours, I&#39;m okay but it&#39;s nice to know that I have you around for questions. <p> If you are like most people you just get too many emails a day, and the thought of downloading them all to your phone brings up visions of spam, shopping websites and just plain junk coming into your Smartphone. Well there is a setting you need to know about on both Palm operating Smartphones and Windows operating Smartphones that will speed up your email and unclutter your life. Read below for which device you are using. </p> <p> <strong>Palm OS</strong>, if you are using Versamail, which some carriers label it as &quot;Email&quot; you can change a few setting. Go to your email, tap on the &quot;Menu&quot; button, looks like a set of steps going into the basement, then scroll across looking for &quot;Options&quot; and under Options you will see &quot;Preferences&quot;. Tap on &quot;Preferences&quot; and scroll to &quot;Incoming&quot;, at the top of the page you will see &quot;Get&quot; tap where it says &quot;Entire Message&quot; and switch it to &quot;Subject Only&quot;. What happens now it will download only who it&#39;s from and the Subject line. So you can quickly delete if junk or open it and tap on the small envelope at the bottom of the page to download the body of the email. </p> <p> <strong>Windows OS</strong>, go to your email and tap on the word &quot;Menu&quot;, and you will see &quot;Delivery Preferences&quot; then tap on &quot;Filters&quot;, in the middle of the screen it will give the choice of either &quot;Get Message Headers Only&quot; which you want to select or &quot;Get full copy of message&quot;, which slows down your email. </p> <p> Some carriers use their own designed and built email program, you might want to contact them if you can&#39;t find the above buttons and areas. </p> <p> Dick </p>

<p> I have been a Treo 650 user for about 2yrs - using it as a phone, callender/appointments, B&#39;day reminders... I know, not very much for the capability that&#39;s available to me, thru the unit - ecpecially since I have a 2gig memory card as well - I have not venture to the internet as yet via the 650. </p> <p> I am a Mortgage Broker and I have a &quot;ProMortgage Gadgets&quot; program that I use frequently for quick prequals etc...I&#39;m also a Realtor, in Orlando, FL. and am considering using it as my SupraKey - and I know that I will have to get the Internet in order to do this. I love the unit, have not had any problems with it at all. my questions are: 1) will the performance &quot;slow down&quot; by adding the SupraKey function and 2) what are some of the other applications that can be used on this 650 unit? <p> Has anyone tried the Supra program on a Motorola Q ? I have a XV 6700 with Verizon, which is pretty good but needs to be soft reset three or four times a day. </p> <p> Houghton </p>
