Walking your Talk

Customers who are happy about the way you treated them, that they want to brag about you, is your best marketing you can do now days. Build a great referral network and have your clients work for you.

There is a lot of competition out there, if you don't take care of your clients needs and wants someone else will. Let's face it, you may not get a second chance. In fact going the extra mile for the people who help you pay for your bills will pay off.

Follow up and persistence means sticking to your word. It's keeping your commitment and making your actions consistent with your words. It's all about walking your talk.

Many people are interested rather than committed. They talk about trying to do something, rather then actually doing it. They make lots of promises, but fail to follow through.

Observing successful people, I've noticed that they don't let disappointment's stop them. When one door closes, they look for another one to open.

Keep your head up and keep looking for the next opportunities in 2008.

Debra,

great job as usual.  Follow up is the key, do as you say dont let anyone side track you from your goals and road map to get there.

Merry Christmas happy hollidays.

I just called my friends and relatives in Bremen, it snowed there over the week end.

we may have a hotel for sale in bremen the first of the year.

You are a great resource in AZ

I have added your web site and BLOG to my handouts for students taking the FIABCI and CIPS classes

That's my Debra - walk the talk and keep walking and talking. Shame you guys didn't hang around for Friday night in Vegas as we presented the International awards at the Bellagio although I will say that NARs publicity of the event was poor - surprising really as they did everything else so wonderfully well -  your own Janet Branton and I presented the awards in true Oscar style. That said, for all the hard work I and my staff had put in we were recognised both locally by Archant and nationally as "The Estate Agent of Year" Innovation Customer Service.

On taking over the Presidential reigns of the NAEA in 2005 the first thing I said was I want to make a difference - I want to improve the home buying experience, I want to bring the members appreciable benefits and most of all I want to improve the perception of real estate agents in the UK - the time has come to Walk the Talk and pioneer change.

Whilst proud of my achievements and the people who supported me the point I am making is yes, you must Walk the Talk first but after Walking you must not forget to Talk. I encourage everybody who puts their head above the parapet to continue to seek recognition, stand up and be counted. The winning of our awards as put the staff in my business and I on another level - the buzz is phenomenal and everybody couldn't wait to get sign up to our 2008 business plan.

It's great knowing you Debra and applaud your work ethic and commitment - in fact think I must have some US blood because the majority of you guys inject me with so much bubble and fizz and adrenalin. We are proud to stand next to each other as successful people however successful or one's definition of success.

So yes, back to all those guys out there talking about me and my product and my staff - look after your network like you look after your staff - look upon them as your sales force.

Cannot resist making a few more comments - the market has got tougher here - it suits us as whilst others are waiting for the phone to ring we know how to make it ring. Don't just look for doors to open, actually open them and don't be scarred what's on the other side. Manfred says follow up is the key - he refers to communication - the key words to be successful in 2008 are communicate, confidence and ambition - then give it your best shot. I wish everybody who reads this a successful year ahead along with good health, happiness and a sprinkling of fun along the whole route.

Well said Chris.

Here's to all of the people who want to put the Professionalism back into our Profession. People like Debra make such a positive influence on all of those around her. What an honor it is to have such a colleague.

If the phone works, why aren't you on it?

Cheers from California!
