Realtor Referral Agents

A REALTOR® is a real estate agent who is a member of the National Association of REALTORS®, called NAR® for short. REALTORS® are located in all parts of the world. While most Realtors® are members of their State and local associations, they also network with other NAR members in a variety of different ways. Many have established professional relationships attending industry meetings, via brokerage cooperatives, and in certification memberships.
 
When a customer needs to sell or purchase a property in an area outside their agents area of expertise, Realtors® often utilize referral networks to find an appropriate agent to assist their customer. Realtors® are limited to their knowledge of other area sales and inventory data that are offered in outside multiple listing services. We depend much on communicating with other agents for listing data, for market condition and industry information.
 
Many Realtors® hold specialty certifications that offer different areas of expertise. Membership in certification programs such as E-Pro, CRS, GRI, CCIM provide member benefit networks to help agents connect with other professionals and real estate specialists. 
 
Brokerages also offer Realtor® referrals through referral networks. Independent agencies are sometimes affiliated with international and national referral networks, and franchises often have in-franchise referral networks available.
 
Who knows you better than your Realtor®? Most likely your Realtor® has helped you with another real estate purchase and has knowledge about you and your real estate goals. If you are planning a move either to or from a certain area, or an investment in a foreign market consider allowing your Realtor® to hand-pick a referral agent that will be an appropriate match for your expectation levels and your real estate needs. 
 
Working with an agent in advance of and while considering and planning your next purchase will help familiarize you with area neighborhoods, properties and sales. Having an agent actively working and preparing for you in your absence will save you time and eliminate much of the stress of your next real estate transaction.
