I agree. I am a new broker and just keeping track of everything makes me a little nervous to start new things like Relay. It sounds great and I'm sure I probably will start using it or something like it. However, I do wonder what we do if the power goes out? My systems are all connected to power. The internet, the computers, the back up systems. If everything is online or even backed up to disk, does anything get printed? What is the plan (generally speaking) if a disaster comes, i.e. earthquake? I think if we have power it's excellent, less driving for signings and mail, etc. I remember before faxes were acceptable. It sure seems like technology is just flying along.

Valerie - I too, share your same covictions. Although we are slowly (very slowly) moving toward a paperless transaction most all of out contacts, etc created on Tansaction Desk still get printed. The KY RE commission will still not recognize electronic signatures. However, the convenience of communicating, thru the tansaction desk utilities sure does make some tasks easier. With DocBox (Fax to email) all forms are attached to a transaction and can be forwarded individually or as a "transaction packet" too anyone who needs a copy. I have mine set up with "shares" so I see all the agents transactions. I review all the transactions documents online. The paperwork rarly hits my desk until after the closing. It's then the agent is responsible to print a hard copy of all the docs for storage. It also has the abilty to create a CD of all or part of the transaction docs for storage. Buyers and sellers love to have their agent present them with a CD after closing of all the docs including the closing statement.
