I am currently working with Relay with an active account. I am trying to determine if it is a good fit for me. I have a couple of issues that I thought I might explore in this discussion, as I may find some answers or alternatives.
1) My first issue is input of data or documents. I find only two means of inputting data/documents. Direct login with entry or upload for information or documents or login and create a fax cover page for transaction specific fax input. I find a substantial time loss in much of this login and format of my information/documents for upload/fax input. Many documents I receive by email but I have found no means to send email to relay specific transactions. It would be helpful to be able to email to a specific transaction without a cover page and have the entire email recorded in the transaction without having to convert the email to PDF format. Is this possible? How?
2) New Transactions - I have properties I work for some time before they are listed. I find that a new transaction requires a listing date before it may be saved. I have inserted a date to get a property on the system, but in my opinion this creates kind of a mess. As the properties multiply, then become listed, then under contract and eventually closed I have to change these dates and then I have no record of my initial date. I would like to be able to track the property from my initial contact through closing. This would allow me to use the system better to serve and communicate with my Seller during the pre-listing period. Entering data, notes, and documents with an appropriate label. From what I see the current product has to have the list date and does not allow for an initial start date for my work and tracking purpose other than notes I might enter.
Discussion or updates would be helpful.

I'm experiencing similar frustration with the time consumming steps to get anything done.
1. I am saving every document as a pdf and then upload.
2. I also agree it is ackward if you are working on a potential listing where you want to track everything you do before you have an official listing. As for tracking the original date that you're trying to keep track of, it should log into the "History" of the transaction, or you can add "Notes".
3. One item that really drives my nutty is I want to schedule "open houses" or any appointment and get it into Outlook, I have to enter it into Relay, save it, re-open and click on the "Outlook" link at the top left - then it takes me to Outlook.
I think the general idea is good but incredibly time consuming and clumbsy. I've sent repeated e-mails to Relay folks suggesting they improve the system but seems to be falling on deaf ears - never a response.

Have you tried out The Wise Agent yet? It is a program that bundles everything into one: contact management, marketing (all types), transaction management, expense reporting, listing coordination, etc. The program is subscription based, but there are no contracts, and it interacts with Outlook and your mobile phone or PDA.
Their customer service is incredible and they have free training that goes on all week long. I met these guys (and lady) in person twice and they are a great bunch of professionals.
If you are interested in taking a look around I have an account that I use for training and you are welcome to sign in for as long as you would like and check it out. Just send me an email and I will provide you with the log in details. If you end up signing on with them I can offer you a discount code that will discount your monthly rate from $24.95 to $19.95.
As a Real Estate Virtual Assistant I am trained on and have used all of the transaction management platforms and this has been the easiest to learn, the most comprehensive since it is everything in one and the easiest to work with.

I thought Wise Agent was similar to Top Producer. Is that not correct? Thus, for closing coordination, you can not invite "outside vendors and other agents" to view the transaction. This is one of the major benefits of having a transaction management platform vs a contact management system. I haven't worked on Wise Agent, but if they are similar,TP8i is not a transaction management platform.

Wise Agent is like Top Producer, but they also have a transaction management platform that's included with your subscription.

For listing and transaction management, give Update Lane a try. It's designed to be user friendly and quick. Schedule showings, collect feedback online, create your marketing plan, post and share documents (almost any type of document), track competing properties.
In its beta right now, the next set of functionality that will be released will include the ability to download all marketing tasks to calendar (including Outlook). Make sure to check out our internet first of its kind image system. We had to fix the code coders use to code to make this work the easy simple way.
Happy selling,
Dan
Thank you for the post.
I did log on and take a look and created an account. I added a listing.
and could not locate phone number fields for the Seller. Am I missing something?
David Fialk.
At this stage, all you are doing is inviting your client or others to participate in the transaction. Once your client creates their account, they will add their own phone numbers and other contact information.
We have tutorial videos in the works but are waiting for specific functionality to be completed before releasing (e.g., download to calendar).
I'll follow-up with you directly once you've had a chance to work with the tool to gain your feedback. Thanks for trying us out.
Cheers,
Dan
