I am about to buy Agent Office. I had Top Producer at an assistants request, but she's now gone. I like Desk Top versions of things. I know the downsides, but I access everything through www.gotomypc.com. I feel too restrained having to pay a monthly fee to keep my data up and alive. And, yes, I know I can download it if I choose to move on, but who needs the hassel.

Phillip:

Have you ever tried Relay? I have not tried Agent Office, but I will look into it. What are the differences if you have tried Relay to Agent Office?

Thanks Phillip!

I have not tried Relay. Sorry. Other experts here will have however. It's best to listen to someone who has tried several programs. Gary Hall has a ton of knowledge about TM programs. You might want to give him a call. 215-345-5222 He is a seller of many of the top programs. I have no connection to Gary at all, except when I've called for info. He will help you decide.

Philip, welcome to the Group

Agent Office is Contact Management related, just as is Top Producer, Active Agent and many others.Top Producer and a few others are Internet based,

Relay Transaction Management is an online transaction management platform, which is much different from Contact Management programs.

Phillip: Agent Office is a contact management program not a transaction management program.Having said that, I have used Agent Office for six years and am very happy with it.

Just managing contacts and suspensing followups is worth th eprice. I Was with TP but when they went on line I went the other way. As with most of these programs they can do so much more than mist of us ever know or use. But we cannot be techies and good agents as well, particularly in this tough market.

I would suggest you contact Gary David Hall. He is the Agent Office Top Dog. He has a CD ($100 - 150 I think?) that is 'way worth the money. Just hand it to your assistant and turn her/him loose.

Update Lane (www.updatelane.com) just launched and its definitely the most comprehensive and user-friendly on the market. It's in the beta now which is entirely free. When you create your account, you can click buy transactions which are $0 so add as many as you want. Accounts will always be free so collaborating with other agents, title, escrow, lenders, et al will always be easy.

Cheers,

Dan

Dan -

Just curious about your experience with UpdateLane? As a Virtual Assistant that specializes in transaction coordination, I'm always on the "hunt" for a new product. UpdateLane sounds interesting. However, my hesitation is there are few details on the website about the company and the server the information will be stored on.

Dan - -

I took a look at UpdateLane as these sites with this type of help have been something I have tried and not yet found one to fit me.

There is a couple of things that do bother me - - The first being that I could not find a place on the site that identifies who I am dealing with, site owner/operators, and where they are located. No identification. The second is in at least one part of the user agreement which I have pasted below. I only read parts of it but with this portion I was concerned as to who may see confidential information in the future and just basic security of information I may input. Take a look and see what you think. We are required to provide confidentiality to our clients and there transactions. I read this as our submitted docs or information could, if UpdateLane desired, be out into the public eye.
