Grunion Run!

Thanks Ashley, I was just talking about this a couple weeks ago!

Haven't done the grunion thing since I was a kid, but it's worth doing at least once in your life just for the uniqueness of it.

I have not been impressed by the grunion here in San Diego. I went one time and didn't see much. As a kid we would go camping in Mexico and happed to see them once. It was amazing to see the whole beach just glistening with little fish as far as you could see.

I still think they are a myth. So many times I have heard of this so called "grunion running" but I have yet to see it for my own eyes. I think it falls into the same category as snipe hunting.

I saw the grunion run a couple years ago at Carlsbad State Beach and it was very cool, very worth seeing. Every time I tried to see it before then was a bust so I stopped looking. Then quite by accident walking along Carlsbad Blvd. one night after dinner we saw a group of people on the beach with flashlights and Grunion everywhere! They are not a myth but are also not easy to find. Good luck!
