How do I receive email notifications when responses are made to a discussion?

Star the item. Once the item is starred, you can go to your 'Starred Items' via the community navigation menu and make sure the 'Watching' checkbox is checked. When you are 'Watching' a starred item, you will receive email notifications as more posts are added to the discussion. By default, 'Watching' is checked on community items you star.
