I am sure "everyone" doesn't read every topic on the forum. They do that by choice.

If the content of this thread doesn't suit someone, they should simply skip over it in favor of some other topic that strikes their fancy.

In my opinion, some of those that do not share the points of view expressed here are not satisfied with merely moving on and reading something else, they have to make sure they extinguish the point of view that does not agree with their own.

You know, like their Liberal media does with any point of view not approved by the Left.

That's how we wound up with the president we now have.

Keep you political opinion to yourself. As Realtors we don't come here to hear your political views!

A common erroneous paranoia of both sides, LOL.

No, inappropriate simply means inappropriate. Perhaps you can take the muck to a more appropriate forum?

I also did not join this forum to read political vitriol. I thought it was a means of communication between real estate professionals. So far none of the discussions have been very enlightening and I wonder how so many have so little knowledge of their profession.

A number of Realtors who have responded to this chain, believe that it is 'misplaced,' in that they are of the view, perhaps legitimally, that they do not come 'here' to be exposed to political views -- that 'here' is only for the posting of material directly and proximately connected to Real Estate.

The definition of 'procuring cause' in real estate and 'proximate cause' in criminal law and tort law are for all intents and purposes identical, in that procuring cause eminates from proximate cause.

There are generally 2 kinds of causation in law.

PROXIMATE CAUSE -- a.k.a., direct cause, direct & proximate cause, efficient cause, efficient adequate cause, legal cause, PROCURING CAUSE

Paranoia?

Stop projectng. Since you do not know me personally, you are assuming what my "feelings" are. You doing that has all of the accuracy and reliability of the content of a sound byte from the current Speaker of the House speaking about the CIA.

Let's analyze you. I suppose that you too are one of those that claim to be "open minded" EXCEPT when a political point of view doesn't match yours. Then it's perfectly OK to wave your hand, roll your eyes, and recite standardized slogans and chants to describe that different point of view, and do the child-like equivalent of putting one hand on each ear, looking at the sky and saying "LALALALALA I CAN'T HERE YOU LALALALALALA."

;-)

I am noticing that you have no objection to those making "Hate Bush" statements. That speaks volumes. And of course "Hate Bush" statements wouldn't alienate 1/2 of the potential business out there, right? You may recall that somewhere around 53 million voters did NOT vote for the current administration. Can any agent or broker afford a "Dixie Chick" outburst of free expression? I don't think so.

For those that are unable, at this time, to see that the current administration is an utter disaster to our personal lives as well as our profession, I can only say that by this time next year, unfortunately, you WILL see.

Inasmuch as the politics, the outright corruption, and the obtuse behavior of the ruling party affects "real estate," the topic certainly belongs right here. If that doesn't sit well with you, simply skip the topic and read something else.

Mike

As a rule, 'experts' are always in the minority.

In martial arts instruction as well as in numerous spiritual schools of practice it is said:

In the mind of the beginner, there are many possibilities, whereas, in the mind of the expert, there are few.

This demonstrates, perhaps, the limits on the rule of the majority and the reason for minority rights.

It also demonstrates why Obama is now learning as fast as he is about dealing effectively with terrorism,as well as why some of his campaign promisses will likely not be met or sustained.

And as for the Executive Order that he issued precluding 'torture,' inclusive of 'enhanced interrogation techniques,' be aware that Executive Orders are often used in CEREMONIAL matters, i.e. Executive Order 12333 issued by President Reagan, that precluded political assasinations during 'peace time.' Executive Orders can be overidden by other Executive Orders [probably classified], or by National Security Directives, many of which are classified.

Thus targeting of terrorists for assasination, does NOT violate EO 12333 and if and when the time comes that 'enhanced interrogation techniques' become again necessary, REMEMBER that President Obama stated that he would do whatever it takes to keep America safe from terrorism. That was not said tongue in cheek and He seems to be learning quickly -- hopefully quickly enough !!!
