Use City Funding to Help with DownPayment

Jan. 30, 2009

Have you heard....?There are many exciting social events happening in  and around Florence, SC. The Drs. Bruce and Lee public Library is a beautiful architectural addition to Florence. The Library contains a state of the arts computer lab which is constantly in use. However, it could use additional donations in the form of books. There are many shelves to be filled. Technology is growing by leaps and bounds but this should not replace the necessary skill and art of the written word. We are able to benefit from a variety of visiting authors,as well as free lectures on many useful topics.

Florence has two outstanding Hospital Systems that make quality healthcare accessible.

The Florence Little Threatre has just completed construction of a new facility on S. Dargan St

FMU has broken ground on its Cultural Arts Center which will also be on Dargan St

Returning to Florence after thirty years of living around the Washington, DC Metropolitan area was a cause for concern. The first shock was the seeming lost of vitality in the original downtown corridor. I was stunned at so many vacant business sites along Dargan, Irby, and Evans Streets. I wondered what had happened here. After driving around the town as well as several neighboring cities I saw that the region was simply going thru the various real estate cycles growth-decline-revitalization and so on. With such revitalization comes a marvelous opportunity to become a homeowner of some beautiful homes in the area of Florence that fall under  City. Many of these properties are eligible for city funding. In some instances as much as $10k-$20K of downpayment assistance. Take advantage of this opportunities to say "The Pee Dee We're Buying it. Knowing that there are repetitive phases of real estate allows for less stress. Each phase has potential to cause growth. Some though result in slower growth than others.
