The people that I wish anyone had told me about earlier (I've been at this for 15 years), are Brian Buffini and/or By Referral Only. If you do absolutely nothing else for yourself, go to either or both of these programs.
They usually both offer free 3 hour seminars, that honestly give you a wealth of information. The other thing they do is coach, which I have never signed up for because I knew I could not be that accountable to someone about my business at that time. ( I was caregiver to my (90+ year old mom until the middle of this year). If I were starting over again, I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to implement the things that they tell you - which is to get referrals from those around you that know you rather than being intrusive on people's lives with phone telemarketing calls, door knocking, etc. The thing is, they have the "system" to help you do it, and if you follow it, I know you will be successful.
And, just to let you know, one of the best investments I annually make is to send my clients/sphere of influence a nice calendar each year - it has brought me more income than any other piece of marketing material. Good luck to you - you sound like you are headed in the right direction.

IMHO education is key to success. My favorites are David Knox, Terry
Watson, Craig Proctor, Tom Hopkins. I have used something from each of them
in my business...as well as they energize me. Whether or not these
educational expenses will pan out depends on you and whether or not you
implement their teachings or just sit and review your notes. It's the doing
that produces results.

The Buffini coaching program works. I know many agents who send out cards on a regular basis and their referrals and repeat business does increase. Most of the agents and loan officers that I know who are sending out cards do not need to advertise at all and their business pipeline is full! Even during these slow times. I posted my true name and email address. If anyone wants to confront me directly, please do so. My comments are a true representation of MY EXPERIENCES, not anything I have read second hand.
I encountered the Buffini system at a Turning Point in Monterey in April 2004. I had been coached for FREE by a previoius mentor for six months. After seeing the TP in Monterey, I signed up for coaching which lasted 4 years.
I gained tremendous knowledge, self improvement and some very good friends who I will have for life. I have no regrets.
The coaching works IF YOU WORK IT. Just as with any trainer/coach, it is only as good as YOU make it. I learned several strategies in finance, personal growth, business growth...I am very pleased with the money I spent. My clients always enjoyed the materials I sent them and I have had many repeat transactions due to the referral system model.
We all learn from others in this life...that is called wisdom...and Brian has always given credit ot his mentors along the way. If he took a "Stumpf" model and used it to his advantage, well Joe should be proud of that.
As far as his family....well, I am Irish and I know the evils of alcohol addiction, the need of support for family in times of trial, and the forgiveness that we ALL need to offer to each other. We ALL make mistakes and must pay for them and then learn to give mercy and accept grace to move forward in our lives.
I believe in the Referral Systems he teaches, the coaching is good for people who need more accountability, and I would recommend it to ANY business professional, not just Realtors and Lenders.
