SUPPORT INNER CITY GARDENING!

Monday, June 19, 2006
Categorized in: Arts & Entertainment

The Fremont Community Garden project, formerly known as the Mandella Garden, located at 14th and Q Streets is getting a makeover.   This wonderful community garden is an ADA accessible organic garden in the Fremont Mews Community that needs to raise $40,000 to complete the proposed project.

On Saturday June 24th a fundraiser is being held at the Capital Athletic Club to benefit the garden.  Party starts at 7p.m. There will be plenty of local leaders (including Vice Mayor Rob Fong), community activists and lovers of fresh fruits and veggies will be on hand to make this a fun event.

The event is receiving support from nine notable local wineries, eight downtown restaurants, 18 local artists who are providing art for the auction and many other benevolent businesses who are providing raffle items.  In addition, there will be live music performed by Baby Grand.

Tickets are available for just $25 in advance and $35 at the door.  Advance tickets may be purchased at the Capital Area Development Agency (CADA) located at 14th and P Streets.

This is sure to be great fun and all for a great cause...the revitalization of our  Fremont Community Garden.  See you Saturday!
