1. re: Charleston, SC - Manners
I agree that as a rule people in Charleston have good manners they are also friendly. I was impressed by the fact that they were always ready to help and they were very considerate ( I lived in Summerville) my little granddaughter was born just before Christmas at a Charleston Hospital. We took her home on Christmas day. The doctor was there before we took her home and asked us to go have lunch (my daughter already had been released) so he could have time to check the baby over one more time. It was cold and he was worried about jaundice. Unfortunately we could not find a restaurant open. Doctor suggested we go to Doctor's dining room. We had turkey with all the trimming and cake for dessert!..and we took baby home after warming up the car. I made a few friends during my seven years in South Carolina and I keep in touch.
