• Apr. 15, 2006 - Sleep Train Ampitheatre?

What do you all think about the new name for the Concord Pavilion?  I know the sponsorhip is important to keep our beloved venue going, but Sleep Train Ampitheatre?  What do you all think about this change?  I wished it could just stay Concord Pavilion, it keeps in here, in Concord.  Where in the world is Sleep Train Ampitheatre?  People may think it is a totally new venue. Will they put mattresses on the lawn for those evening performances?  Will they host sleep overs? Maybe it could be Concord Pavilion, sponsored by Sleep Train.  Yes, in small letters.  Many I know think that Monster Park (aka Candlestick) is sponsored by Monster Jobs.. it's not!  It is Monster Cables... Monster Cables?  What do you all think of the sponsorships? Sign of the times? I guess so.  Many still call Candlestick, Candlestick.  Tough to change that habit for sure.

Would love to hear from all you Concord Pavilion fans.  And in support of this fabulous venue, right here in our backyard. Take a look at their upcoming season:

It doesn't seem they have their whole season there yet.. so stay tuned.

Sleeptrain Pavillion sounds funny from this distance. I assume that is a company in your area. We have a concert venue named after a car dealership, an auditorium named after a discount store in my town. Luckily there was some modification from the originally announced name of the auditorium which was laughable. Money talks.
