CASEY KEY BROKER TOUR…Notes from the Tour

Mar. 20, 2009

Our Spring Broker tour of CASEY KEY listings showcased everything there is to love about Casey Key. Here are a few notes describing what we—along with area residents, brokers, and the curious—enjoyed on Thursday during the tour.

Direct beach front property with a cottage; this 2-story, 1-bath home was brought up to code in 2001. Gorgeous sunsets!
It was all we could do to stay out of the pool—or should we say pools! Think “possibilities” for this Casey Key listing; a lap pool out front and a Gulf view indoor pool. Convenient to Blackburn Point Rd. 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, and plenty of sand and sun.
Island style flavors, central courtyard, and a lovely boardwalk to the bay and dock…we truly enjoyed seeing this home. The owners are selling this wonderful prize as a turnkey, furnished package…walk in and pop a cork or break out the blender in true island living. We were ready to kick off our shoes but it was time for the next home on the tour.
This is a diamond; truly the property value is in this exclusive, secluded location. We took in the views of the water, the deeded private beach across the street, and all of us secretly imagined building our next dream home right on this sweet spot.
This tucked-in neighborhood rests on a private road with a dock on the bay and Gulf of Mexico deeded access. Overall, an old-Florida feel with mature fruit trees, and a 2008 updates throughout. A great location!
The keyhole-shaped boat basin was the most memorable part of this property, built right into the seawall to shelter your boat. Deep water channel runs right on the property line. 4 bedrooms, 4 baths, and a second-level studio offering the best views.
Complete grandeur…at first it was the grand entrance, then the stone patio overlooking the pool with Blackburn Bay in view that first captured our attention on this fabulous 5 bedroom, 7 bath home. But when we saw the 18 foot hewn stone fireplace…wow! Covered dock and a complete renovation adds incredible appeal. Nearly 7,000 square feet of magnificence. We absolutely loved it.
Incredible…five contiguous lots create an expanse for an estate of epic style; truly unique gulf to bay property. Three 1930s homes are included in the estate. All we could say was, “wow.” Waterfront property like this is not easily found, but here it is on our own Casey Key.

 2880 Casey Key Rd. $ 3,689,000
Ahh, Tuscan inspired tropical beauty overlooking Sarasota Bay. We couldn’t get enough of the elegance, including travertine flooring and lovely faux paintings. This gorgeous property is a showcase, from the 7-car garage to the private boat dock.
“Casa Mia” – My House, and indeed, if you like modern graced with walls of glass, you are home. We loved the panoramic views from the white-railed decks, and the colors here were so soothing and refreshing…like the sea. Deep water dock, and…did we mention the views?
The great thing about this house is the 150’ feet of spectacular white sands, and we understand this beach is quite stable. If you are into entertaining, we definitely recommend this 3 bedroom, 3 bath home.
Warmth…the sunset colors of Mexican tile…fireplaces…this home was a refreshment of design and style. Gated Casey Key Estates area of the island, and too lovely for words.
Next stop found us still within the gated Casey Key Estates area, and this Key West-style home was everything you could want…lots of air flow, inviting porches, a spectacular kitchen…we liked the bamboo flooring as well.
La Casa Rosada…translates “the pink house”…and the warm Mexican tile and rose-hued Spanish styling defined this artist’s estate. 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, and over 3,000 square feet—includes a private guest suite which works great when everyone comes to Florida to visit. Very appealing.
By the time we arrived, we’d seen so many breathtaking properties…but this brand new treasure took our breath away again. The wraparound porch, the Turkish marble floors…lots of gleaming wood, really, it’s too much to describe. The designers truly brought the indoors out and the outdoors in; so open and airy!
Bay front peninsula at the end of the cul-de-sac. We were delighted with the scope of waterfront property here and quickly realized this was the real deal fisherman’s paradise. A home full of warmth and character surround by coconut palms and blue waters.
It’s the waterfront living that makes this home so charming…but we could say the same about every home on the tour. Casey Key real estate can’t be beat!
The openness seemed to fill the place; everywhere you looked you could see the full Gulf of Mexico. Simply outstanding Key West home…especially the loft. We wanted to stay in the loft all evening!
Last on the tour but spectacularly not least, this 3,600 square foot beauty highlighted the evening with its striking European elegance. 27 foot ceilings created an airy expanse, and the 2,500 square foot garage was impressive. Private dock, jet ski lift, and low-maintenance exterior. Designer from head to toe! Casey Key real estate elegance.

This spring broker tour was a pleasure…If you weren’t there, Nick Herron & Kathleen Herron of the Herron Groupwould be glad to show you any of the properties listed on Sarasota’s Barrier Island of Casey Key. 941.350.5035.
