Web Women Giving Circle Founder Joeann Fossland has commenced holiday posting on our "other" blog, Inspiring Woman. Click the photo for Joeann's tribute to her daughter, visit the blog for inspiration, and make a post of your own. The $10 donation fare is donated to CARE, of course! An excerpt from the post:
"You are sharing your magic touch with everyone who is lucky enough to get a massage or facial....
"You awed me when you combined work, school and mothering, because you didn't let the pressure get to you and took care of Lily so she always knew she was surrounded by love!
"I Love you!!!!"
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the Web Women Giving Circle.

Mukhtar Mai is a Pakistani woman who was gang raped and paraded naked before hundreds of onlookers. She sought justice in the court systems despite threats of reprisal. Officials in the government, seeking to suppress the news, tried to keep details about the case from appearing in the press. She prevailed in remarkable fashion. Time Magazine has called her one of Asia's heroes.
Bucks County, PA, REALTOR Marty Millner (Coldwell Banker Hearthside REALTORS) agrees. Marty nominated Mukhtar as a source of inspiration on our sister blog, Inspiring Woman, and says:
"The story of this absolutely amazing and courageous woman will make you cry. It is the most incredible example of the power of the human spirit that I have ever read ... This amazing woman's story inspired me. Her ability to create opportunities for thousands of impoverished, uneducated women, which evolved from her tremendous personal tragedy, is an amazing story."
Marty Millner is a source of inspiration in his own right. He read about the Take An Agent To The Top Raffle on the RealTalk Listserv and bought a bunch of tickets today. He didn't stop there. He wrote a warm and lovely note of encouragement to Web Women Giving Circle founder Joeann Fossland:
"I learned about the raffle on RealTalk, and just purchased 6 tickets.
"I wanted to personally take the time to thank you for this incredible idea, and commitment to making a difference in the world. I think what you and this group are doing, is amazing, and I am proud and honored to be a part of it.
"If there is anything else that I can do to help ensure the success of the project, please let me know. I am pretty well known in my market area, and I intend to reach out to all the REALTORS in our area, to let them know about the raffle, and will encourage all of our local REALTORS to participate.
"Again, thanks so much for the chance to participate."
And then he found his way to the Inspiring Woman blog and left his footprints there.
Marty Millner gets my nomination as the most Inspiring Man to cross the cyber pathway in quite a while. There are hearts of gold in those real estate Listservs. -- Frances Flynn Thorsen

What is Africa to me:
Copper sun or scarlet sea,
Jungle star or jungle track,
Strong bronzed men, or regal black
Women from whose loins I sprang
When the birds of Eden sang?

"It is easy enough to tell the poor to accept their poverty as God’s will when you yourself have warm clothes and plenty of food and medical care and a roof over your head and no worry about the rent. But if you want them to believe you—try to share some of their poverty and see if you can accept it as God’s will yourself!" -- Thomas Merton, Seeds of Contemplation (1949).

Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of exiles.
