I've decided to update this post as of today, April 9, 2008. If you are moving to Seattle you should know that here in the Seattle area home buying and selling is less of a mystery for our local residents. We likely have the best resources for finding a home online. We being the Seattle Area as a whole. Our buyers and sellers are tech savvy. We have cutting edge sites like Redfin and Estately and JohnLScott.com to name a few.
Our clients enjoy lower than average commissions because they participate to a great degree in the home buying and selling process, given they have great resources available to them like Craigslist and Zillow and Trulia, and of course RainCityGuide where people ask questions and get real answers without fear of being "captured as a lead".
User friendly soft sell is the trend, and Seattle does it best.
UPDATE: P.S. Somehow the competition for Greatest Real Estate Agent in the World picked up this post in their contest and I'm not sure why.
I can hands down say that Real Estate Webmasters is the real deal when it comes to web design and seo. Morgan Carey is a sweetheart and he helped me when I was least expecting it. I was drooling over their sites for a long time and he graciously gave me a beautiful custom site that helped to launch my business.
Their contest is a real win-win for the end user. If an agent is chosen and they don't take advantage of everything that comes with their service, then dumber than a load of fenceposts would be a good way to describe the agent. Sorry, REW is giving someone the chance of a lifetime.
If it's Dakno, then that might be difficult as Dakno is by far one of the best solutions ever. We have just put up are first custom design with Brad Carroll at Dakno, and it has been the most incredible experience I could imagine. Dakno is a nice group of people, they know their stuff. The turn around time on requests was amazing.
It will be interesting to see who the winner is. REW is a great company and treated me right when the going was tough.
Odd for someone to post a wonderful recommendation like that and not include their name. If you happen back, please post who you are, otherwise it sounds like you are Morgan Carey :)
Hi Ardell I just wanted to say you are the true winner of the competition. By being #2 and #3 you have truly beat all "SEO"s and put a valiant fight against so many realtors who tried to be #1 by "joining forces" (with all due respect to Eric). You have personally made a me a true believer in the power of quality blogging over SEO. I thank you for that.
P.S. I loved your last comment. Real Estate Web Design anchor text title is a dead give away.
Thank you so much for your comment. It did me a World of good, and I'm sure Dustin Luther will also be pleased as punch to read it. I sent it to him.
It is so hard to try to explain to agents what blogging really is, and even moreso what WEB 2.0 really is. It's as hard as getting them to get "fiduciary" :)
