Genesee County, MI – Angie Ridley, owner of Complete Realty, LLC, has been awarded the National Association of REALTORS®’ Green Designation, the only green real estate professional designation recognized by NAR. Angie Ridley achieved this prestigious designation after completing 18 hours of course work designed specifically for REALTORS®. The courses were created in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of industry experts from across the country; ensuring designees gain comprehensive knowledge of green homes and buildings and issues of sustainability in relation to real estate. Angie is currently the only EcoBroker Certified® in the area. More specifically, Angie Ridley was trained in understanding what makes a property green, helping clients evaluate the cost/benefits of green building features and practices, distinguishing between industry rating and classification systems, listing and marketing green homes and buildings, discussing the financial grants and incentives available to homeowners, and helping consumers see a property’s green potential. “As energy costs rise along with concern for the environment, homeowners are looking for innovative ways to save money and live responsibly,” said Dick Gaylord, NAR’s immediate past president. NAR’s Green Designation was developed in response to growing consumer awareness of the benefits of resource-efficient homes and buildings. The designation helps consumers who care about energy efficiency and sustainable building practices identify REALTORS® who can help them realize their green real estate and lifestyle goals. As an NAR Green Designee, Angie has gained the knowledge and the tools necessary to become a trusted green resource for MI’s Genesee, For more information about NAR’s newest designation, visit www.greenresourcecouncil.org

You never know where you will find "Green" technology. My client and I have viewed a few homes 5-6. We keep going back to the same home. The more we look at the home the more we realize the "green" features. Keep in mind; this is a previous owner occupied home, not "new" construction which makes this more interesting. Rain barrels are used to fill the pool. Rain barrels collect the water from eves. The collected then fills the pool by a hose running from the barrel to the pool. Rain barrels can also assist in preventing water in the basement and flooding yards. For more information please visit: http://www.arlingtonva.us/DEPARTMENTS/EnvironmentalServices/epo/EnvironmentalServicesEpoRainBarrel.aspx The construction of the pool room was constructed SIP style, structural insulated panels. SIPS are made in the factory. Constructed inside, weather is not a factor with materials. Insulation is foam or Styrofoam that expands between to pieces of OSB, Oriented Strand Board. SIPS can be used to construct all exterior parts of a home or building. The SIPS come in sections and provide easy installation, energy efficiency and cost savings. For more information please visit: http://www.epsmolders.org/3-sips.html Exterior Cedarwood siding provides for low future maintenance. The material doesn't rot. Insulation with a high R factor is needed in northern climates. The higher the R factor the more efficient. Solar panels were installed to heat the pool. Can you imagine...I am imagining a loan servicing company and backing investor saying to the homeowners: "I know your ARM is getting ready to adjust. We understand we probably shouldn't have done this loan to begin with or we understand the economy is tough let's make a difference. We won't adjust your ARM. We will keep the rate locked at the current percent as long as you make the payments. We are in this together, lets get out of this together." If one company did this, would others follow. What would the market do? How many people would be grateful and use that company again. How many real estate agents would refer business to that company? Just thinking, wishing and dreaming....

Seller and Purchasers, Complete Realty, LLC is making life easier!!Complete Realty, LLC will go live with Book-A-Showing August 1, 2007. Book-A-Showing can't start up soon enough for Complete Realty, LLC. We will no longer be taking REALTOR® phone calls for appointments; they will all be through Book-A-Showing. I will even have the Book-A-Showing on our website. This is a showing system that does it all. Sellers will get email or text notification of appointments, be able to approve through the text or email system also. Purchasers showing file will be kept on-line so any home can be looked at again. Seller and purchaser will have immediate access to all feedback and appointments. Sellers will be emailed all feedback results. This system emails the showing agent until they respond. Awesome! Finally a tool made for desk tops, Smart Phones and the mobile agent. No more phone calls for feedback or showing vacant homes and with records that will last forever! I can see the cell phone bills decreasing. Safety! Only agents that are truly licensed will be able to use the system, a safety measure that agents and companies haven't had in the past. We always verify through the State of Michigan website, but this will eliminate this task. Too much to list, please visit http://bookashowing.com/

As our business is changing we need to rethink where we are going on how to get there. We are working harder for less. That’s okay, and now is a good time to readjust business plans. I am currently in the process of up dating and rethinking my business plan. I thought of my agents and peers as I proceeded. |
