Angie's Real Estate Corner

• Oct. 7, 2007 - ARM's Due, What If?

Can you imagine...

I am imagining a loan servicing company and backing investor saying to the homeowners:

"I know your ARM is getting ready to adjust. We understand we probably shouldn't have done this loan to begin with or we understand the economy is tough let's make a difference. We won't adjust your ARM. We will keep the rate locked at the current percent as long as you make the payments. We are in this together, lets get out of this together."

If one company did this, would others follow. What would the market do? How many people would be grateful and use that company again. How many real estate agents would refer business to that company?

Just thinking, wishing and dreaming....

Fortunately this is beginning to happen.  Special loss mitigation departments are being set up and there are funds being created to buyout distressed mortgages.

Hud has been hard at work.  New guidelines for FHA loans will ensue and FHASecure is already here.  Feel free to stop by my blog for more info...
