Hello Melissa,
Thank you for the opportunity to assist with your article. In addition to the information below, I belong to many rating services also. www.MerchantCircle.com , www.Naymz.com just to name a couple.
I have been Internet Social Networking since 2006. The social interacting provides me with an opportunity to show the public and peers that I am an expert in Genesee County real estate. Blogging creates a personal relationship between me and my current as well as future clients. I have had clients call me from my www.AngieRidley.com blog (a www.realtownblog.com) because they see
I like to camp or we have some thing else in common that the person calling read about. They meet me before I ever meet them. People are willing to share so much, so just have to want to learn. I learn, educated and advertise my sellers listing where I network. www.ActiveRain.com social network has 2 values. ActiveRain is a real estate driven blogging website. To access all features a participant must become a member. No fees are involved. The education on ActiveRain is priceless. I have learned web tricks and received useful real estate information. Comments blogged on ActiveRain can be for "Member Only" or Public. I post Flint real estate stats and listings on ActiveRain which upload to a public site called www.Localism.com . ActiveRain is a great place to generate referral business.
Socializing on www.myspace.com assist me with communicating the younger generation. I am a Gen X, I am able to converse with Gen Y's over MySpace. It seem Gen Y's like facts and "just say what you mean quickly" responses.
www.motorcityconnect.com is a place I can give and receive business referrals and education. This site hosts a calendar of free educational events.
The Michigan Association of REALTORS® thought social networking was so important they created a group for Michigan Realtors on www.facebook.com Here we can discuss what is new with Michigan Real Estate.
www.LinkedIN.com is a professional business network that is based on linking to each to create higher results for the search engines, as ActiveRain does as well. There is professional discussion, quick tips and more...
www.Plaxo.com keeps your systems in sync, members active, and update to with what each other is doing. If you use Outlook, Plaxo will keep your systems in sync. I have 3 systems that I sync together with this system. If my friend Missy in Ann Arbor posts to her blog, Plaxo alerts me.
My next venture is www.MLive.com forums. These forums are broke down by area and category. This will create close community ties.
I add www.youtube.com clips in my blogs so people can get a visual about me. Again, they know me before the call.
I have a Mobile Notary that I separate from the real estate brokerage so I have a free blog in www.wordpress.com to advertise that business with no expenses.
I hear agents say, I don't have time to blog; I don't have time not too. I connect my www.AngieRidley.com blog to all other blogs I have, my business website www.CompleteRealtyLLC.com and my email address. I make myself very easy to find.
All the blogs I have listed are free to all! |

• Oct. 7, 2007 - ARM's Due, What If?
|
I am imagining a loan servicing company and backing investor saying to the homeowners:
"I know your ARM is getting ready to adjust. We understand we probably shouldn't have done this loan to begin with
or we understand the economy is tough let's make a difference. We won't adjust your ARM.
We will keep the rate locked at the current percent as long as you make the payments. We are in this together, lets get
out of this together."
If one company did this, would others follow. What would the market do? How many people would be grateful and use that
company again. How many real estate agents would refer business to that company?
Just thinking, wishing and dreaming.... |

• Aug. 14, 2007 - Bells? Balloons? Yelling? FAAR-OUT!!!
Bells? Balloons? Yellling? “FAAR-OUT!” (Randy Haney of American Associates)
Delivering the “FAAR-OUT” award is the best part of being a member of the Flint Area Association Realtors® Board of Directors and member of the Recognition Task Force. It’s just fun!
I love charging into an office with bells jingling, balloons flying and yelling “It’s time for a “FAAR-OUT” award!” Smiles and laughter begin with everyone in the office. .jpg)
The recipients of the “FAAR-OUT” award reward me with surprised faces, large grins and sometimes even tears. I am personally excited, energized and in high spirits the rest of the day. I would love to give out a “FAAR-OUT” award daily!
The “FAAR-OUT” award is the most positive award I see the Flint Area Association of Realtors® presenting. The “FAAR-OUT” award is a gift from peers and clients. It doesn’t get better than this!!! Do you know a someone in the Flint, MI area real estate business that is FAAR-OUT? Please call 810 767 6330.
Are you “FAAR-OUT”? If so, I hope to see you soon! .jpg)

• May. 18, 2007 - "Office on Wheels"
|
www.tutto.com This is an awesome “Office on Wheels!” I have developed injuries from carrying around notebooks and full totes. I bought a case on wheels about 3 months ago. It was a blessing. The first case on wheels was too big for the airplane and I couldn’t fit legal.
While wondering the tradeshow at NAR Mid Year in Washington, I found the great “Office on Wheels”. My new “Office on Wheels” fits legal, 17 inch laptop or tablet and pockets for everything you could imagine. The top is even structured so I have a place to sit if needed.
The new “Office on Wheels” will fit in the airplane bins and is stackable. The wheels are swivel. No more worries about unbalanced office equipment tipping or twisting.
Please visit the website for more information. I’m sure my little spiel doesn’t do the “Office on Wheels” justice! |

11 years ago I pulled up to greet buyer clients. I had a Chrysler Sebring Rag Top. They said, "If you were driving a foriegn car we wouldn't do business with you". Well I had to get work done on the vehicle, I found out it was made in Mexico. hahaha
They turned out to be great clients. |

• Apr. 29, 2007 - Flint Cultural Center Corp. Night Out.
|
Friday April 27 was a night for Flint fun and entertainment. I went to an evening pt together by the Whiting and FCCC called “Triple Play”. This evening was way cool. We started the evening at “The Farmers Market’. Mott Community College played gentle soft music while we snacked and had drinks. I hear the chicken at the Farmers Market is like know other.
The next stop was at the University of Michigan Auditorium. We listened to “Triple Play”. Great music played with blues and jazz. The entertainers supplied lots of laugh for a large crowd. http://www.madcatmusic.net/tour.html .
The last stop was the Aloha Lounge and Jazz Club.

• Apr. 25, 2007 - Motion Computing
| I recently purchased a Motion Computing Tablet from Dell. Motion Computing is it’s own company but you can purchase the system through Dell to use the NAR discount.
I love it. I no longer carry paper to write on. All my notes for meetings are in a Journal file so I may write, yes write, on the screen for notes. This system is magical. I am more organized, my office is paperless and my office products are synced.
The Motion Tablet allows me to work just like on a desk top when out of the office. When I return to the office, I put the information from the Motion PC in my shared document so the information automatically transfers to the desk top. I also take information from the desktop and put in the Motion tablet. All transactions are scanned, put in shared files then saved. I can in the field with the Cannon portable.
I use Plaxo from AOL so my contacts, calendar and tasks are always in sync. The Motion tablet includes Bluetooth, Inferred and more…. Easy to sync with the TREO.
