A Presidential Task Force will be formed to revisit the Governance Restructure Proposition ** per Beth Pressler May 24^th 2007.

 Some of you know this, some of you don’t.  Women’s Council of Realtors® is restructuring the way the national governance is now operated.  They would like to see a smaller group of people make the decision so decisions can be made on the fly.  The smaller group of people would be a diverse group. Of course there is good and bad to this, change is difficult for many people.   The current plan is being revisited as Beth said above.

 While in DC a red flag went up in my head and Stephanie’s.  We are wondering if another part to the restructuring is to eliminate the state level.  I’ll explain.  We were in our regional meeting; this meeting consists of Michigan and other states. We are called Region 2.  Wisconsin is part of Region 2.  Wisconsin currently does not have a state level govern team.  They have 3 or 4 chapters, plenty of people and would like to create a state level team.  National Committee has told them “no”.  In our meeting a National Committee member was speaking and the Wisconsin person asked the question out loud for all of us to hear.  The National Committee member let her know it wasn’t in their best interest at this time, and then proceeded to avoid any more questions on that topic.

 I just wanted to bring you up to speed and keep all informed.  We don’t get enough information from National, so I will relay anything I hear.  Stephanie may want have something to add to this later.

Another scare in the Flint, MI area.  Just what we don't need.  This scare and possible job loss will effect about 500 more people in the Flint area.  In Sunday's paper, The Flint Journal, this information was released.  Of course GM will not confirm. 

The proposed sale would be to a company called "International".  The assembly would be moved to a mid-west state. 

What I wonder, does any part of GM own "International".  Just a question I have.

Buyer,  Property Tax Questions You Need to Ask

What is the assessed value of the property? Note that assessed value is generally less than market value. Real Estate Agents can find this information for you.

How often are properties reassessed and when was the last reassessment done? Generally taxes jump most significantly when a property is reassessed.

If the property is non principle resident, the taxes are higher and if designated as a principle residence.  If you purchase a property that is designated non principle, the new tax based on principle residense happens May 1st.  Make sure you file the correct paperwork, if in doubt, ask your agent or title company about the forms.

Will the sale of the property trigger a tax increase?   This will depend on the type of sale and who is selling to who.  Genereally , yes.  Often the assessed value of the property may increase based on the amount you pay for the property.  Real Estate agents can assist you with getting an estimation for future taxes.

Is the amount of taxes paid comparable to other properties in the area? If not, it might be possible to appeal the tax assessment and lower the rate.
