Town of Castle Rock Watering Schedule

Posted at 5:07 PM, Jun. 1, 2007

The Town of Castle Rock has put forth their 2007 watering schedule.  It is very important that this watering schedule is followed or fines can/will be incurred up to $200!

This watering schedule does not effect hand watering or children playing in sprinklers per the water scheduling which can be found here.

The Town of Castle Rock has had water restrictions for the last 17 years.  They are known to be the most forward thinking for water conservation along the front range of Colorado (at least that's what they say).  In the last 5 years, Castle Rock has implemented landscaping requirements for new builds as well as for landscape remodels.  Some of these requirements state how the ground is to be tilled and what to add to the soil for sod, limits the amount of sod that can be used, encourages low water plants, and more.  It is very detailed but the goal of Castle Rock is to ensure there is water for future generations.  The only problem is, people still want to have a golf course green lawn and with heat and restrictions, it's not an easy item to accomplish.  - Wendy
